About Us

As you can see, our sheep are healthy, happy and come running when called for breakfast!

Blaine View Farm, LLC is a small family farm located in beautiful northwestern Montana in the shadow of the Swan Mountain Range. It is conveniently located near Kalispell, Montana and is close to Glacier National Park. It is owned and operated by Tera and Kurt Thorderson. At Blaine View Farm we are committed to a natural, sustainable lifestyle, and responsible commitment to the environment. God has given us an amazing Earth to live on, and we need to do our part to help sustain her.

We currently have a small flock of Leicester Longwool sheep, and have just finished our first year of operation. Leicester Longwools are a rare breed, and it is a pleasure to do our part to reestablish them in the United States. It is a special wool that is prized by hand spinners and wool lovers for its curl, soft handle, and lustrous beauty. As part of the Shave 'em to Save 'em Initiative, we're doing what we can to help this threatened breed. To quote the Livestock Conservancy: "Many of America’s once-common farm animals face extinction if we do not take action now. Rare farm animals represent an irreplaceable piece of earth’s biodiversity and offer incredible variety that may be needed for future farms – robust health, mothering instincts, foraging, and the ability to thrive in a changing climate. These farm animals are a vital part of ensuring food security for our planet – now and for the future."

We have recently acquired a fiber mill! We are in the process of setting it up, receiving training, and experimenting on our wool so that we can make your wool awesome! Stay tuned for updates on the fiber mill services. We are so excited to begin processing wool for fiber producers everywhere.

We hope you'll come running to the Blaine View Farm & Fiber Mill. Visit our store to purchase our incredible wool. Speak with us so that we can help you make your fiber dreams come true. All of your support will help us maintain our commitment to reestablishing this threatened breed.
